Re: Actually truly getting EATEN. The culture is all wrong, in all spheres from the aesthetic to the moral. Firstly, it would upset loved ones too much if we got eaten in reality; Secondly, we are often chubby and out-of-shape (or too muscular) instead of being nice and skinny like, say, an ancient Egyptian. Thirdly, we wear clothing all the time, which really sucks. We are meant to be nude or in loincloth & armlets. (Of course for loved ones it is always upsetting when e.g. a son or husband gets eaten, but in prehistoric times there actually SOME EXPECTATION they might not come home from the woods; many cultures even ritually ate humans (ancient minoans) or gave their family members as sacrfices to large predators (chinchorro culture). In such cultures the tragedy of e.g. son or husband being eaten was much less or zero depending on circumstance. OKAY! Enough of the "serious" talk.... :-D
